As we all know, Mobile has plenty to offer to its residents. But sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what your choices are at any given time.
Here is a great site which you might want to bookmark. Its called Mobile.org, and it covers a lot of what is going on in Mobile and our surrounding areas.

Every now and then we find an Internet article which clearly lays out the benefits of being involved with a concierge practice such as Access MD of Mobile.
This past month we found one on the Healthline website entitled “The Future of Healthcare Could be in Concierge Medicine”.
The article makes the following points:
1. Concierge practices serve many fewer patients than a traditional practice serves. Of course, this means that you can make an appointment and gain access to care much more easily with a concierge practice.
2. Given the rapidly escalating deductibles in traditional healthcare plans, working with a concierge practice can actually save money for the patient.
3. Concierge medicine is not just about “sick care”, but also about staying healthy and living life to the fullest.

If you work with Access MD already, you already realize these benefits. But it is always good to see more press coverage and wider availability for all people for concierge medicine.
This is a short article and video from CNBC on the advantages of working with a concierge medical practice such as Access MD Mobile. Benefits listed include limitless access to a doctor, compatibility with high deductible insurance plans, and longer visits.

We all know exercise is critical to good health, but the debate rages as to how much exercise and what kind of exercise is best for you. Your age, pre-existing conditions, and other reasons factor into the equation. Having said that, here is one article which states that a moderate amount of jogging either outside of the home or on a treadmill helps lower your risk of death.
A short snippet from the article:
“First, some exercise reduces your risk of death. Second, the optimal walking/jogging exercise is light to moderate jogging. The optimal speed is between 5 and 7 mph, and if you do 25 minutes about three times a week, you’re all set. Nothing in the data suggests that running more – farther, or faster – will do more to lower your risk of death.”

Most of us have pets in our homes. We might do this for enjoyment, or in the case of dogs, for security.
But did you know that animals are also good for your health? Many studies have shown this to be the case, and for reasons you could probably guess.
Here is an article from Fox News on five animals that can make a positive impact on your health.
Here is a clip from the article:
Studies link dog ownership to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and triglyceride levels, plus a reduced risk of heart disease. A 2011 review in the Journal of physical activity and Health found that dog owners are 34 percent more likely to meet their exercise requirements (based on the federal guidelines) than nonowners.
What are the five animals beside dogs? They are cats, fish, birds, and horses.
