  Are You Using CareCloud, Our Patient Portal?

  You may not be aware of it, but you can communicate with Access MD via our secure, Patient Portal system called CareCloud.

  The process is simple. Contact us for a login and password, and then login using the CareCloud login link at the bottom of our home page at www.accessmdmobile.com.

  You can even download the mobile app so you can use CareCloud on your phone or tablet.

  With this system you can check on lab work, look up information on medications, and contact us on medical issues.

  As always, besides using CareCloud, you can also call our offices with any health-related questions.

• A Short Comment on a Recent Medical Study

  A few patients have asked me recently about a well-publicized “study” showing that medical errors are now the third leading cause death in the US, behind heart disease and cancer.

  We did look at the study and found it flawed in some major ways. The study extrapolated from a very small pool of data, and in addition, actually changed the way such medical errors are calculated, thereby showing an increase in deaths related to medical error when that is simply not the case.

  The mainstream media could do a bit more “digging” before running with stories that so directly effect readers.
