Dr. Hashimi (Hash’ i mee) was born and raised in Mobile, attended Murphy High School and graduated cum laude from Birmingham Southern College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. She graduated from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, and then pursued her specialty training in Internal Medicine at USA Medical Center. A Board Certified Internist, Dr. Hashimi is currently certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support.
Most recently Dr. Hashimi has been on staff with Great Mobile Urgent Care and, prior to that, Springhill Medical Center Primary Care. She also practiced with the Internal Medicine Center after serving as Associate Director of Student Health Services at the University of South Alabama. She is an active member of the Mobile County Medical Society, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and Medical Staff at Springhill Memorial Hospital.
Dedicated to supporting the local medical education community, Dr. Hashimi serves as a Past President and Executive Board Member of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine Medical Alumni Association. She has also served on the USA College of Medicine Admission Committee and as an Advisory Board Member for Physician Assistant Studies and the College of Nursing.
An active member and Sunday school teacher at Springhill Baptist Church, Dr. Hashimi has also served on the America’s Junior Miss Executive Board (now called the Distinguished Young Women of Mobile County). She enjoys participating in activities with the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Children of the American Revolution, civic groups that promote patriotism, education, and historic preservation. Dr. Hashimi also supports the American Heart Association through her practice and Camp Rap-A-Hope both personally and through her practice.
Dr. Hashimi is married to local cardiologist, Wail Hashimi, MD, with whom she has two daughters. One daughter is currently studying at the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine and the other is a junior at Auburn University working on her degree in Chemistry. She practices the healthy lifestyle she prescribes by snow skiing and hiking as well as weight training, biking, swimming and running.
